"I just do whatever it is that I believe I should do, regardless of the risks to my life....I would rather
die a meaningful death than to live a meaningless life.... This is a time to return to our basic values.
For us who are a people of faith, Christians and Muslims alike, it is a time to return to our true faith.
True faith must be rooted in prayer, in our trust of a loving father, in loving sacrifice of self for the
greater good of all. The problems of peace and poverty, social justice and good governance are
concerns of everyone and everyone must do his or her share."

- Cory Aquino (Jan. 25, 1933 - August 1, 2009),
First Woman President of the Philippine Republic

“We don’t need or want another faked up, phony image for the same old
corrupt adulterous thieving gangster vice mayor alipon that we’ve got now.
What we need and and what we want is a truly brand new, younger,
honest Vice Mayor like ARNEL GOMEZ that we can believe in and trust
to bring a better future for our city and our children.

- Poll of Sta. Rosa Voters, April 2010

"The Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one."

"who wants a schoolboy vice mayor anyway?
50-year-old manuel manoy alipon's 2010 campaign artwork is insane!"

- internet blog

"In 2010 Vice Mayor Manuel Alipon will be a burden and a handicap to any political group that supports him, whether it
favors or opposes the present Malacañang administration. The Vice Mayor's closest family, friends and supporters know
that CACOMA, the anti-corruption campaign against him, has legal substance and a lot of money behind it. What this
indicates more than anything else is an absence of political skills on the part of Alipon and his advisors. The people he
turns to for professional advice, if indeed he ever listens to anyone else, will inevitably suffer from association with him.
Any real politician with a modicum of the basic skills necessary to career survival would long ago have been pragmatic
enough to nip this situation in the bud, not allow it to escalate out of control. At the level of Vice Mayor, near the very
bottom of the political ladder, making so many rich and powerful enemies in one's first term of office is political suicide.
Manuel Alipon had his chance and he blew it. His political career is over, and ultimately he has only himself to blame."

“If bad people in our government can join forces to wreak havoc
in our country, then why can’t the good people join forces as well
and promote good governance in our country?”
